The second Kazan Global Youth Summit opened on Monday in the capital of Tatarstan. The event involved young people from the countries – participants and observers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the BRICS states and the Asia-Pacific region.

Vice Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Leyla Fazleeva stressed the importance of the presence of foreign guests at the event.
« Tatarstan is a place of confluence of cultures: East and West, Islam and Christianity in Russia. Therefore, the personal participation of Mr. [генерального директора ИСЕСКО] Salima bin Mohammed al-Malik is a landmark for us, for the development of further cultural exchange and integration, » Fazleeva added.
In turn, the Minister of Youth Affairs of Tatarstan Rinat Sadykov noted that compared to last year, the number of people wishing to take part in the summit has increased.
The press service of the government of the republic reported that the main topic of the summit will be the role of traditional values in the upbringing of children and youth in the modern world.
Also, within the framework of the forum, round tables and discussion platforms, an exhibition of the achievements of the youth policy of Russia, Tatarstan and international partners, a foresight session on changes in the youth environment and visits to youth and sports facilities will be organized.
The Global Youth Summit is being held in the capital of Tatarstan from 28 to 30 August. The event is held for the second year in a row. Last year, Kazan was awarded the status of « Youth Capital of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation – 2022 ».
