« Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov and president of FC Barcelona Joan Laporta laid time capsules at the construction site of the Spanish football club’s second academy in Bishkek on Wednesday.
Footage features politicians and guests of the event taking part in the capsule laying ceremony, as well as a football match between Barcelona and Asian Legends with President Japarov playing himself at the Dolen Omurzakov Stadium.
« Sports academies in the future will have a positive effect on promoting healthy lifestyles among young people, as well as creating a healthy generation and a healthy nation, » Japarov pointed out during his opening speech.
For his part, Laporta said that the opening of the new football academy would be ‘the best Barcelona experience of the world’.
According to media reports, the construction of the sports complex will take three years. It will include a 10,000-seat stadium, training fields, a medical rehabilitation centre, an Olympic-standard swimming pool and other infrastructure.
Earlier on Tuesday, the opening ceremony of the first academy of Spanish football club Barcelona in Jalal-Abad was held. »
