« Foreign ministers representing the member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) convened in a conference room in Jakarta on Monday to engage in discussions on matters about regional security.
Footage shows the gathering of officials at the meeting, where several leaders, including Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi and Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Mohammad Mahfud Mahmodin, delivered speeches during the conference.
« I know that around this table, during this meeting, we are all committed to bring ASEAN to move forward, » said Marsudi.
« As the Council’s mandate for Political and Security Operations in Asia, we must not lose sight of specific challenges in our nations. Last May, our leaders adopted the declaration of Combating Trafficking in Persons, » said Mahmodin.
Local media reports indicate that the primary topics of discussion during the meeting included the South China Sea map, efforts to combat trafficking and drug-related issues, and the ongoing political situation in Myanmar. »
