« A funeral took place in Tulkarm’s Nur Shams refugee camp in the West Bank on Tuesday for Ayed Samih Abu Harb, a 21-year-old victim of an Israeli attack on the camp earlier in the day.
Footage shows relatives and friends bidding farewell to the victim, holding his body in the camp’s streets while chanting ‘God is the greatest.’ People are also seen clearing debris from their damaged houses and shops in the aftermath of the attack.
“As you can see, the extent of the destruction is great and the losses are great. The Israeli occupation uses the policy of collective punishment against all the Palestinian people,” said Muhammad, a shop owner.
Muhammad, a paramedic at the scene, reported that the Israeli forces’ assault had devastating consequences that occurred in the early hours of the morning, around 3:30 am. Tragically, Ayed Abu Harb lost his life during the operation. Additionally, five individuals sustained injuries, with some in critical condition.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health confirmed that Abu Harb was fatally shot in the head and was pronounced dead at Thabet Thabet Government Hospital in Tulkarm.
After this incursion, there were violent clashes between the camp’s youths and Israeli soldiers. The soldiers used live bullets and toxic gas bombs. This incident marked the third intrusion into the camp within two months, during which the camp endured raids and vandalism. »
