« US State Department Principal Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel urged the DPRK to cease its arms negotiations with Russia during a press conference in Washington DC, Tuesday.
Patel noted that negotiations regarding arms between the two countries are progressing well after the Russian defence minister visited the DPRK to persuade Pyongyang to sell artillery ammunition to Moscow.
« Russia has been forced to search desperately around the world for weapons it can use in its war in Ukraine because of our sanctions and export controls and the effects that those have had, which has made it harder for them to get material that they need, » Patel said.
On Tuesday White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan reportedly threatened Pyongyang regarding a possible delivery of weapons to Russia and stated that it is ‘not going to reflect well on North Korea’ during a press conference. »
