‘Why is Bolsonaro still free?’ – Protesters demand former Pres’ imprisonment amid Brazil’s Independence Day march in Sao Paulo

« Protesters from various social movements took to the streets of Sao Paulo, on Thursday, demanding former president Jair Bolsonaro to be arrested.
Footage shows protesters marching during Brazil’s Independence Day carrying flags and banners while drumming and chanting with the presence of police officers accompanying demonstration.
« Why is Bolsonaro still free? Look how many lives he killed, he banned the vaccine, he encouraged violence against women, » said a protester Marcia.
The 68 year-old has been accused of attacking democracy in Brazil during his mandate as well as contributing to a rise in violence.
Defeated by Lula in the last elections, the former head of state was declared ineligible for eight years following a court verdict. »
