« On the last day of the G20 summit in New Delhi, world leaders gathered at the Raj Ghat, the memorial to Indian independence icon Mahatma Gandhi, to pay their respects. They walked barefoot as a symbol of reverence towards Gandhi’s legacy.
While some leaders, including the US President, chose to wear slippers instead of walking barefoot, the essence of the moment was preserved as they stood in a solemn moment of silence. During this time, they placed wreaths at the memorial, honouring the teachings and principles of Mahatma Gandhi.
India hosts the G20 Summit, which will provide an opportunity for the leaders of the Group’s major economies to find solutions to the world’s most pressing problems. »
