« US President Joe Biden seemed to be affected by the jet lag, as during a press conference held in Hanoi on Sunday, the politician looked confused when mentioning the railroad project across Africa, said that he was in India instead of the Southeast Asian country, and talked about the ‘Good Morning Vietnam’ song during his initial words.
« I will tell you what: I don’t know about you, but I’m going to bed, » he said during his final remarks.
Despite the fatigue, Biden stated that the meeting between Washington and Hanoi leaders is a ‘historic moment’, and added that it will be a force for prosperity and security in one of the most « consequential regions in the world. »
« We can trace a 50-year arc of progress between our nations from conflict to normalisation to this new elevated status, » Biden mentioned.
During his speech, the US President stated that his government does not seek to contain China and also declared that people in his cabinet are in touch with Chinese President Xi Jinping’s staff members, mentioning that he met Xi’s number two.
« I just want to make sure that we have a relationship with China that is opened up, squared away, and everybody knows what it is all about. One of the ways to do that is to make sure that we are talking about the same things, » concluded the politician.
According to local media reports, Biden is scheduled to have a 24-hour visit to Hanoi. »
