« Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi waved goodbye to reporters as the G20 Summit in New Delhi concluded on Sunday.
Footage shows Modi walking past scores of reporters and bidding farewell to them.
On Saturday G20 leaders agreed to a joint declaration acknowledging the situation in Ukraine while also calling states ‘to refrain from the threat or use of force to seek territorial acquisition’, without explicitly singling out Russia for its military offensive.
Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Oleh Nikolenko wrote on X, formally known as Twitter, that the G20 ‘has nothing to be proud of’ regarding its positions on the Ukraine conflict, while Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called the results of the summit ‘critical’ for maintaining ‘a balance of interests’ in global economics.
The group of the world’s 20 leading economies also welcomed the African Union as a permanent member. Modi formally closed the gathering on Sunday, passing on the presidency to Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva’s Brazil. »
