Locals gather in tents following powerful earthquake in Marrakech as death toll reaches 2,681

« Local residents of Marrakech were seen gathering in makeshift tents following the deadly earthquake that struck the city on Saturday night, as seen in footage filmed on Monday.
The video shows dozens of people inside tents as well as men working to clear the rubble of damaged buildings.
According to local media reports, the natural disaster has claimed 2,681 lives, and thousands more are yet to be rescued.
It is also reported that rescue teams from foreign countries, including Spain, the UK and Qatar, are working with Moroccan emergency workers to find potential survivors of the event.
On Saturday night, an earthquake struck in the High Atlas mountain range, approximately 72 kilometers southwest of Marrakesh. The event is reportedly considered the country’s strongest-ever earthquake. »
