Protesters burn banner featuring Barcelona’s Mayor Collboni during pro-Catalan independence march

« Thousands of demonstrators marched through the streets of Barcelona on Monday for a pro-Catalan independence rally led by the ‘Esquerra Independentista’ (Independentist Left) group.
Footage shows demonstrators marching with flags and banners with the slogan ‘We are Catalan countries’. Others were seen burning a banner featuring the portraits of authorities, including Barcelona’s Mayor Jaume Collboni.
According to organisers, around 5,000 people participated in the march which coincided with the region’s National Day. The rally started at Barcelona’s Placa d’Urquinaona before heading to the Placa Comercial, where it ended outside the Born Center for Culture and Memory.
Spanish, French, and EU flags were burned during the rally, according to local media reports. »
