UAE astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi receives hero’s welcome in Abu Dhabi after successful mission aboard ISS

« UAE astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi received a warm welcome after successful mission aboard International Space Station (ISS) by the UAE leadership in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.
UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, welcomed him at the new Abu Dhabi International Airport, where they discussed Sultan Al Neyadi’s experiences in space and his aspirations for future missions.
« I would like to announce that our flag has once again reached space, this time outside the station. This is only the beginning of other spaceflights to follow as we are eager to reach the moon. I hope to see the UAE flag one day on Mars and the moon, » said Emirati astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi.
Sultan Al Neyadi has just completed a historic six-month mission aboard the ISS. To honor his return, the Al Fursan aerobatic team performed a flypast over the airport.
At the age of 41, Sultan Al Neyadi achieved remarkable milestones, becoming the first Arab astronaut to successfully perform a spacewalk and the second individual from his nation to venture into space.
