‘Fighting for education’ – Thousands of teachers rally in Lisbon to mark week-long strike

« Thousands of Union of All Education Professionals (STOP) supporters took to the streets in Lisbon to mark a week-long strike, demanding better working conditions and funding for public schools, Friday.
Footage features protesters marching through streets holding banners and placards reading ‘Fighting for education’, ‘Teachers in meeting to defend education’, ‘We Love School’, ‘United education strike because it is serious’ and ‘for a worthy profession’ and ‘Fight for a quality public school’, among others.
STOP, comprising nine teachers’ union organisations, has reportedly planned another strike for October 6th, following World Teachers’ Day, celebrated the day before. »
