‘Largest number of gold medals among 56 competition venues’ -Hangzhou Asian Games spokespersons elaborate on competitions

« Spokespersons for the Hangzhou Asian Games unveiled details about the sporting event, in a press conference held in Hangzhou on Monday.
“The event will produce 41 gold medals in swimming, 10 gold medals in diving and 2 gold medals in synchronized swimming, for a total of 53 gold medals. It is the venue with the largest number of gold medals among the 56 competition venues of the Hangzhou Asian Games,” said Xie Binbin, spokesperson for the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Centre Aquatic Sports Arena.
Xu Deqing, the Chief Spokesperson for the Hangzhou Asian Games, stated that yesterday, they witnessed an impressive total of 466 games across 25 sub-categories, encompassing sports such as shooting, rowing, football, and table tennis.

He disclosed that on the previous day, a total of 466 games took place across 25 different sports categories, ranging from shooting and rowing to football and table tennis. These events unfolded in 32 distinct venues, culminating in the awarding of 31 gold medals.
The coveted first gold medals were clinched by Chinese athletes Zou Jiaqi and Qiu Xiuping in the women’s lightweight double sculls event, setting an early tone for the competition. Deqing emphasised that three events during these competitions established new Asian records, while five events achieved new Asian Games records.
 »We have effectively communicated with international sports organizations about this event as soon as possible. International sports organizations will communicate with relevant personnel in accordance with the event charter and relevant standards of the competition, so we believe that the international organizations will have official responses,” said Zhu Qinan, Spokesperson for Hangzhou Asian Games Sport Operations Centre.
The 19th Asian Games is taking place in Hangzhou from September 23rd to October 8th, featuring athletes from 45 member nations of the Olympic Council of Asia. »
