‘If you shush up, I’ll meet with you after this’ – Biden responds to climate activist interrupting his speech in Arizona

« US President Joe Biden was interrupted by a climate activist while delivering remarks at an event to honour the late Republican Senator John McCain at the Tempe Centre for the Arts in Tempe, Arizona, on Thursday.
« Why don’t you wait? Hang on a second, I’ll be happy to meet with you after I speak, ok? I tell you what, if you shush up, I’ll meet with you, I’ll meet with you after this, OK? » responded Biden to the activist.
Biden honoured John McCain, commented about protecting democracy and targeted former President Donald Trump during his speech.
The US President warned that Trump’s MAGA (Make America Great Again) movement is a threat to American democracy.
« There’s something dangerous happening in America now. There’s an extremist movement that does not share the basic beliefs of our democracy. The MAGA movement. Not every Republican, not even a majority of Republicans adhere to the MAGA extremist ideology, » said Biden.
« But there’s no question that the Republican Party is driven and intimidated by MAGA Republican extremists. Their extreme agenda, if carried out, would fundamentally alter the institutions of American democracy as we know it. My friends, they’re not hiding their attacks. They’re openly promoting them, » he added. »
