Istanbul’s streets submerged by floods as authorities anticipate more heavy rain

« Scenes of flooding were seen in Istanbul after heavy rain hit Istanbul on Thursday.
Footage shows submerged streets, cars being driven with difficulty or picked up by cranes, sewers overflowing, as rescue teams and citizens tried to retrieve their belongings. Buildings and streets were flooded.
« According to the weather, heavy rains are expected to continue in Istanbul until tomorrow morning. Beware of floods, lightning and flash floods », the Turkish Disaster Management Authority (AFAD) in a text message to citizens’ phones warned.
