« Spokesperson for the Medical Operations Centre of the Hangzhou Asian Games Jiang Huiquan said that Zhejiang province has ‘relatively rich medical resources’ and the international sports event would not affect the daily medical treatment of the common people, speaking at a press conference in Hangzhou, Saturday.
« We have selected more than 40 hospitals as designated hospitals in the host city of Hangzhou and five co-host cities to provide medical services for the whole event. Our designated hospitals are relatively independent of the medical security area of the Asian Games, which will not affect the daily medical treatment of the common people, » Jiang Huiquan said addressing concerns about the Games’ impact on local medical resources.
In his turn, Hangzhou Asian Games Chief Spokesperson Xu Deqing announced several remarkable achievements and services.
Highlighting the sporting achievements, he revealed that a total of ‘1 world record, 1 Asian record, and 7 Asian Games records’ were shattered on Friday, showcasing the outstanding performances of athletes.
India, in particular, set a new world record in the 50m rifle men’s 3 positions event, amassing a remarkable total of 1769 points, surpassing the previous record held by the USA at 1761 points.
The briefing also shed light on the exceptional support and services provided to athletes during the Asian Games.
Dong Tianle, a spokesperson for the Asian Games Village Operations Centre, declared it to be ‘the largest and most well-equipped fitness centre in the history of the Asian Games.’
Carrying the slogan « Heart to Heart, @Future, » the event Games will run until October 8, spanning six Chinese cities, including Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang province, and hosting over 12,000 athletes from a record 45 countries vying for 481 gold medals across 40 sports. »
