Drone captures Chengdu road traffic jams at end of China’s Golden Week

« Thousands of vehicles were seen stuck in a huge traffic jam on Friday on a road near Chengdu, in central Sichuan Province, as travellers took to the roads following the end of China’s Golden Week Holiday.
This year marked the first time this eight-day holiday was celebrated since COVID-19 restrictions were removed by the Chinese government.
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism said it expected this year’s Golden Week to bring in revenue of 782.5 billion yuan (102.7 billion euro) to the domestic tourism industry.
The Chinese ‘Golden Week’ consists in a seven-day nationwide public holiday, during which families come together and engage in festive activities. National Day is held annually on October 1. »
