« Hundreds of Iranians gathered at Palestine Square in Tehran on Saturday to celebrate Hamas’ military operation, the ‘Al Aqsa Flood,’ which has heightened tensions in the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Footage shows impassioned speeches, placard-waving, and expressions of unwavering support for Palestine. A famous quote by Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, predicting that Israel would not exist in the next 25 years can be seen too.
“We gathered here to congratulate the Al Aqsa Storm operation on Palestinians and support this vigorous action. We gather here to say to them that we are with you and if the situation demands, we will intervene practically and will be present at the scene,” said Noori Moghadam, a Tehran resident.
“This has been my dream I think for more than 25 years, to see that Palestinians are not driven away, and they are the people who are taking back their occupied lands and coming back to their country, and this is like a dream from the morning to see this occasion,” shared Roja Lotfi, another Tehran resident.
The conflict escalated further on Saturday when rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip into Israeli areas as part of the ‘Al-Aqsa Flood’ operation, carried out by Hamas’s al-Qassam Brigades. In response to these actions by Palestinian resistance fighters, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced there will be ‘severe retaliation.' »
