Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov arrived in Algiers for talks with Algerian counterpart Ramtane Lamamra on Tuesday. During the visit, Lavrov also met with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. The last time the Russian foreign minister visited Algeria was in 2019. The current trip coincides with the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two states. The previous meeting of the ministers took place in early April in Moscow, when the Algerian foreign minister arrived in the Russian capital to participate in negotiations in the League of Arab States (LAS) contact group on Ukraine.
