« China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Wang Wenbin, addressed the current situation in Israel and Palestine during a briefing in Beijing on Tuesday, where Chinese citizens have been affected by the escalating tensions.
« Chinese citizens and institutions in the area have maintained a high degree of vigilance, strengthened security precautions, made emergency preparations and avoided risks on the spot. In case of emergency, it’s highly recommended to contact the embassy in Israel and the Palestinian office in time for help, » said Wenbin.
« The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant embassies and consulates abroad have issued security warnings in response to the current situation in Israel and Palestine. Chinese citizens are advised not to travel to Israel and Palestine for the time being, » he added.
MOFA spox also urged the US side ‘to conduct prompt investigation’ on the unknown man crashing his car into the Chinese consulate in San Francisco this morning.
« China strongly urges the United States to take effective measures in accordance with the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations to ensure the safety of Chinese diplomatic institutions and personnel, » stated the spokesperson.
Additionally, Wang Wenbin alleged that the unidentified person unlawfully entered the consulate with the intention of causing harm to both the individuals present at the scene and the consulate’s staff. »
